In order to leave that comment I needed to create one...but everything was in Japanese...but I could read it! Haha! Not every word, but I knew enough of the kanji and kana they were using to do it.

It's fun being able to track your progress in a language by using it in real life situations like that. I'm a little jealous you are currently surrounded by people who speak the language your learning (even if you are learning more out of necessity than for pleasure). Enjoy yourself and your experience.

-Chris-skitch_84https://www.blogger.com/profile/18440402619901554824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5323010985560347832.post-64085894554814166992008-07-24T06:56:00.000-07:002008-07-24T06:56:00.000-07:00(From: Chris P.)It's Thursday morning. It will be interesting to read each new blog entry, to see how you've become acclimated (or maybe even feel more a foreigner) in your new home. As you know, I will be living abroad (albeit in a country with street lamps and showers...well, I guess the Japanese prefer bathtubs, but I don't think I'll have to deal with dousing my body with water from a measuring cup) in about a year - hopefully. I find myself drawn to others' experiences living in cultures vastly different from their and my own. Thanks for starting this blog and be sure to let me know when you have new entries up.

Good luck with your continued experience. Looking forward to the next installment...

-Chris-skitch_84https://www.blogger.com/profile/18440402619901554824noreply@blogger.com
